From GIS data to the web

The CartoVista Publisher builds maps by reading common GIS data (e.g. ESRI Shape Files, MapInfo tables, etc.).

The following standard GIS layer types are supported:

  • Polygon Layers
  • Polyline Layers
  • Point Layers
  • XML Point Layers
  • Annotation (Text) Layers
  • Raster Layers
  • Tile Layers
  • Web Map Service (WMS) Layers

When publishing a map, GIS data is converted to an Adobe Flash (SWF) output for the CartoVista Viewer. The flash output is optimized for the web in terms of size, rendering speed and graphic quality.
